Yikes - trapped in seattle…. Troy and Scott forced to stay another day!
Hey, what gives? We go away for a few days and NJ decides to have a snow day? Oh well, I guess we are going to have to go to Pike’s Market and wander around all these cool shops and maybe pay a visit to the very first Starbucks (which actually has coffee that tastes good, and not burnt like the crap at every other starbucks). Well, its a tough job but somebody has to do it.
Then we are going to fly out of this place tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. and then to Houston and then to Philly and then lad Noah Polyniak will fetch us and return us to our homes. We are having an adventure. Anyway, fellow denizens of the Lamb we will, with God’s help be back Saturday night about 9 or 10 p.m.
Alright, heres what it looks like driving into Seattle. That is Mt. Rainer, pretty awesome eh? We had this little PT Crusier and Troy’s superior sense of direction (man, the kid is amazing - he was able to get us everywhere without a map, or asking directions). We went down to the Pike’s Pier area and just walked around and people watched and enjoyed a really beautiful day in Seattle. We really did some walking and its pretty hilly and I was huffin’. But I survived.
We saw this couple singing on the street, and they called themselves “the tallboys.” It was real old-timey music (even though they were just youngsters), but we dug their sound and dropped a few bucks in their guitar case. The girl singer and guitarist also had clogs on and kinda clicked along with the old-timey music. I liked it and I think Troy did too. We would have liked to have gotten back to Jersey, but we had a pretty good time walking around and laughing and teasing each other about one thing or another. You know…two guys busting on each other.
Oh, yea this is the Market, or at least part of it. This is the place where the guys throw the fish around. I guess it is supposed to be a big deal - but we didn’t actually see it. We did see lots of strange looking people, kinda like 2007 hippy scene. Seattle is a really beautiful city and its easy to see why people want to live there…. although a guy that brought us back from the car rental place to the hotel said it rains alot and that people were stressed out by so much rain.
Now me, I like the mellow life of East Orange, New Jersey, or what we in the hood call the E.O. Troy he likes life in the W.O. - you know he’s got that big old house beside the church and living the the life of riley up on the hill with his little woman and the new kid, ah what’s his name? Oh yea Silas. Oh, speaking of E.O. - a few minutes ago (10 PM) Gail called me and said some kid ran into a car across the street (a really nice bmw) and just jumped out of the van and took off. Cool eh? That’s my E.O.
love you guys back in Jersey.
