Internet 101 - How to make use of LOG web site
Attention Lamb folks… I realize that what I am about to say may be incredibly redundant for some of you. Chances are if you are under 30 you already know 10 times as much as I do about the Internet and how to use it. So if that is you please bear with your creaky old pastor.
There are also a fair amount out there that don’t really know how to do much more than get their email and maybe find a some mail order item or use mapquest. If you fall somewhere in that catagory listen up - First, we now have blogs on our web site. Blogs are a pretty cool way to communicate with people and to share dynamically ideas and so on among communties of people. The Black Dwarf and God’s Garage are our first efforts to make us of this format. This allows us to share ideas, tips, insights, links to other sites and so on with anyone. There will be others. We are planning a blog focusing on evangelism and outreach, a blog on prayer and prophecy and a youth oriented blog for devotions and encouragement for our young folks.
In order to get any use out of these things you must regularly visit. The easiest way to do that is to bookmark our site. Our web address is www.lambofgodnj.org In order to bookmark the site you will need to go to the file menu in the browser and drop that file down and choose the appropriate action. You may also simply take your mouse, go to the address bar (that big white box at the top of the browser) and drag (click and hold the mouse down) it into the bar right below the address bar. That will more than likely leave the word “Home” on that bar. You can right click(PC) or Ctrl Click on that word and change it to read Lamb or LOG.
You may also subscribe to the blogs. On each of the blogs “The Black Dwarf” and “God’s Garage” there are instructions on how to do this. It is under the heading RSS feeds. This will allow you to know if there is a new entry without visiting th web page. There are many free RSS readers available and they are easy to configure. Get one, download it and use it. Don’t be afraid to try this — it won’t mess up your computer! It won’t give away your secrets… Its just a good way to share things.
Also note that we have set the blogs up so that there can be feedback and or comments. Please make us of it. We will be regularly updating, adding new entries, links to sermons, teaching, music and sites that you might enjoy or benefit from utilizing.
