Here are some links you might want to consider bookmarking in your browser

One of the things that I want to use this blog for is to share links that I think you might benefit from using. These are a set of links that I’ve used, in some cases a lot. I can’t 100% endorse everything that you might find in looking at these sites, but for the most part I think that they are pretty cool.

I’m going to include a little description which may help you to decide if you want to check out a link.

My first recommendation is a site called Veritas Forum. In particular I want to commend their audio section. This is a tremendous resource of some of the most insightful and through Christian teaching I’ve heard. Teachers like Dallas Willard, J.P. Moreland, N.T. Wright and many, many more are available for free download. I highly recommend it!

Ranking only a tiny notch below the Veritas Forum is John Piper’s site called Desiring God. There are many great preachers in the United States, but I am hard pressed to think of anyone more passionate and biblically astute than John Piper. He is a man of incredible passion for Christ, as well as commitment to the Word of God. His messages are the kind of thing that can give you an education while bringing you to tears. He is a man of the head and the heart. Give it a visit and check out his sermon section. Great Stuff!

My next recommendation is a site called Monergism. Here’s how Monergism.com describes itself: To glorify the Person and Work of Jesus Christ and in Him to “to bring good news to the poor;… bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound” (Isaiah 61:1)

To equip Christians in the truth by making available the finest classic articles and resources of historical orthodoxy. This is done in the hope that the church will embrace, and recover the true Biblical doctrines of the historic faith. In particular let me recommend their audio section Monergism Audio. Here you will find a broad range of teachers and preachers as well as a broad range of subjects. Excellent stuff!

If you want to grow in your understanding an appreciation of revival I recommend Awake and Go. This is a site maintained by a couple named David Lucretia Smithers. They have done a wonderful job of gathering historical data, inspiring articles, and encouragement to those seeking revival. There vision is very much in step with Lamb of God Fellowship and I commend this site for study.

My final recommendation for this entry (more to come) is a site called Discerning Reader. Listen to Discerning Readers statement of purpose:
Discerning Reader is a site dedicated to promoting good books–books that bring honor to God. At the same time, we hope to help Christians avoid being unduly influenced by books and teachers that are not honoring to God.

We do not seek to be harsh or judgmental. Rather, we seek only to be discerning as we compare books to the written Word of God. We let the words of authors speak for themselves and simply hold the books up to the light of Scripture. In doing so, we are building a database of reviews which we feel cast a discerning light on the books that are found in Christians homes, churches and bookstores.

Hopefully you find these useful. Please check them out and then come back and add a comment to the blog!
