I have a dream…
Today I met with a fella from Paterson, NJ. named Ian. He has a heart for revival. He’s an artist and a printer and a man with a heart for God. I don’t know what God has in store for us, only that I liked him from the moment we met. A big part of that was his hunger for God. He was a part of a church down in Paterson called the Gospel Cafe. Very cool ministry.
Ian is looking for a way to build a network of prayer in Paterson and he called me to touch base. I know how Ian feels. He desperately wants to find other leaders who have a heart to cry out to the Lord for awakening. He’s been trying to encourage pastors to come together to pray. So far he hasn’t been able to convince anyone to join him. I really enjoyed sharing the few things I’ve learned in the past year and a half.
Three lessons have come through to me; One, we don’t have because we don’t ask. Two, we really do have Jesus present with us. Three, we must not give up. I have come to see these three things as central to pressing in for revivial. Keep asking, don’t give up and know without question that Jesus is with us.
Pressing on in prayer for revival is constant training in waiting with expectation for God to answer. I desperately want to see the circle of our prayer network grow to include and embrace many more pastors and churches. I will tell you I don’t really have a clue on how to bring that about. I am asking God to show me how to build this network in 2007. Please pray that God will open the doors that right now are not open.
